Yoan Tjahjadi is the owner of Namelaka Patisserie located in Shophaus Menteng. She and her husband Ivan Setyawan (also a pastry chef) has build the brand Namelaka from a small online based shop to one of the most sought after refined patisserie store in Jakarta.
The market for sweets and pastries is often influenced by the current trending products, pastry shops tends to follow the market, by creating products that is currently popular. Conversely the chef need to create the product that is 'up to date' without sacrificing the core brand of the business.
Jakarta Dessert Week is a 2 week long event that encourages the market to try new pastry product, and get to know the chefs behind it. With this, lets hope the market will be more encouraged to explore this wonderful world of gastronomy.
