The stunning third full-length album by THE BAR STOOL PREACHERS, Above The Static, began as a collection of ideas, meant to serve as a guide for the actual album. In April 2021, the Brighton-based band, together with producer Ben Hannah, set up camp at The Waterloo, a three-story pub/venue in the Northern seaside town of Blackpool, to begin the process of making an album. However, when they listened to the first song they recorded, 'Flatlined', they realized that it sounded like the finished product rather than a mere idea.
