In this episode, I dive further into the journey of my breakup, the challenging phase of discovering my ex moved on, and the vital process of taking time to heal in order to find a way forward.

Navigating the complex terrain of heartbreak is no easy feat. Breakups are often more than just the end of a relationship; they signify the loss of a significant emotional connection and the reshaping of one's life. It's also not uncommon to experience a deep and lingering pain that extends beyond the emotional distress caused by the end of the relationship itself. One particularly challenging aspect is the erosion of self-trust and confidence in your own intuition. It's as if a fracture occurs not only in the connection with your partner but also within the connection you have with yourself.

During the course of a relationship, especially one that has ended, there might have been instances where you silenced or disregarded your true feelings and gut instincts. You might have overlooked red flags, dismissed inner warnings, or compromised your own needs for the sake of maintaining the relationship. As a result, post-breakup, there can be a lingering sense of self-doubt. It starts to infiltrate other areas of your life, making you question your ability to make decisions, judge situations accurately, or even trust your own emotions. One of the most important steps towards healing is acknowledging the pain and discomfort you feel in this state of uncertainty. It's okay to mourn not just the relationship but also the trust you've lost in your own judgment. Slowly, as you heal and begin to rebuild your life, you'll start to recognize the flickers of your intuition returning. It might start with small decisions and gradually extend to more significant choices. Every time you make a choice based on that inner knowing, your self doubt will continue to diminish. Each instance where you trust yourself again becomes a stepping stone towards regaining that self-assuredness you thought was lost.

Later on, I share the painful revelation that my ex-partner has moved on. For many, this is a moment that can be both shocking and devastating. The work throughout my healing has taught me the importance of self-compassion during this challenging time and to allow myself to feel whatever comes up; giving myself grace as I move through this journey. I share what has helped me continue through the healing process effectively. This includes rediscovering self-worth, setting boundaries, and seeking support from friends, family, and my therapist. I also share the affect alcohol played in my healing process and why I chose to remain sober for 6 months following the break-up.

The past year of healing has taught me that healing is not a linear process, and it's okay to experience setbacks. I am learning the importance of embracing vulnerability, allowing myself to grieve the loss, and reminding myself not to compare my journey or healing timeline to anyone else's. Breakups are an incredible opportunity for personal growth and transformation, ultimately leading to healthier and more fulfilling future relationships. This episode provides a glimpse into how I continue to find a way forward; embracing the journey of new beginnings and I hope it can empower others to do the same.
