What happens when you are in the PBCC and fall in love with an outsider?
Sarah describes what happened to her and how she and her family were so harshly dealt with just because they asked if someone could join the brethren to be with her.
Sarah tells us of the treatment her father received at the hands of the brethren and how this contributed to his nervous breakdown. She speaks emotionally of how she was denied the chance to pay her respects to her father after he passed away.
Sarah’s story will resonate with many ex brethren as we all have lived experience of their behaviour. But others who haven’t experience such behaviour, may be shocked at the harm and suffering caused just because an outsider wanted to join this church. It gives weight to the conclusion that outsiders are not welcome in the brethren.
The brethren claim to be a ‘Mainstream Christian Church’. But what other mainstream church behave like this?
