In the aftermath of several high-profile police shootings of black people, there has been heightened tension between blacks and whites in America. While some people are taking action to try and address this problem, others are keeping their heads in the sand about it.
The solution does not lie with one race or another, but instead is something that both can assist with. Trust needs to be built again between communities so that everyone feels comfortable speaking about these issues and being open to listening. There needs to be a lot more understanding on both sides so that everyone can feel safe speaking with one another without worrying about being ostracized for it.
