I welcome back Ellen S. Wright, MA, LMFT. In this episode, Ellen explains Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) that she uses for mental health. EMDR helps with and can teach persons how to not internalize ACE’s. Removing harmful internalized dialogs of, “I’m not good enough, it was my fault, etc. and replaces with new thoughts using bilateral body stimulations. She says, ‘EMDR is very effective with a variety of mental health issues. She highly recommends EMDR because it’s effectiveness is felt much sooner than in talk therapy. Sometimes, the benefits are felt the first session. It’s a remarkable therapeutic practice.’
