Description

Will and Jaren dissect the Mavericks 2023-24 schedule for this upcoming NBA season to the best of their abilities. They start by diagnosing marquee matchups and talk about how excited they are for a slew of affairs that include the mid-season tournament, the first game of the season versus otherworldly San Antonio Spurs' rookie Victor Wembanyama, the Christmas Day game versus the Phoenix Suns, as well as many others! They then divulge into the strength of schedule for Dallas and talk about where the roughest stretches of their season lay. They talk about how the Mavericks should better counteract these rough stretches comparable to last year, and place an emphasis on an attitude change needing to come from the "top down" in the Mavericks organization if they wish to not drop as many winnable games as last year. Then, they get into how the likes of Josh Green, Dante Exum, and Dwight Powell have been faring in FIBA World Cup preparation play for the Australian and Canadian national teams respectively. They touch up on Luka Doncic's thigh injury that kept him out of an August 12th affair versus Team USA in Spain, and voice their excited-ness for Luka's upcoming World Cup run with Slovenia. Lastly, they touch up on the Mavericks opening up extension talks with Josh Green ahead of the October 23rd deadline for them to work and extension out together.
