In this episode, I interview Liliana Diaz-Vazquez, who is certified and licensed bilingual speech language pathologist (SLP) currently practicing in Chicago, Illinois. She is also owner of Bilingual Speechie, a speech therapy business dedicated to providing inclusive and engaging resources and activities for bilingual children, parents and SLPs.
We talk about the benefits of speech therapy and common misconceptions among the Latinx community, and she shares her expertise as a practicing speech language pathologist, as well as what inspired her to create her business.
Liliana is a first-generation Mexican American Latina, a small business owner, a full-time school-based SLP, & bilingual parent, who takes pride in her roots, culture, & heritage language. She loves being able to share her experience as a Latina SLP, as well as her experience as a bilingual mom, her culture & heritage language with the educator, SLP, & parent community.
