Most Christians grow up being told that drinking alcohol is a sin and leads to hell. In recent times this issue has sparked debate among those who strongly preach against drinking alcohol and more liberal believers who have in fact found no Biblical restriction to the drinking of wine and other alcoholic drinks.
On the the other hand, our society is plagued with all kinds of ills stemming from the abuse of alcohol such as gender-based violence, drinking and driving, violent crimes, foetal alcoholic syndrome and a myriad of other health issues.
