In Psalm 107, the unknown author rehearses the faithful love of God, the steadfast love of Yahweh, for his people in sustaining and delivering them. The Psalmist focuses on the attributes of God, specifically his hesed, faithful love, loyal love or steadfast love, to his people. God has demonstrated his faithful love to you. This is our reason for giving thanks, this is what thanksgiving should be about for believers. We must offer our thanks for the faithful love of God that is consistently demonstrated in our lives. He is and has been faithful to us, he is steadfast in his kindness to us. During this week, as we prepare to celebrate thanksgiving, contemplate his goodness to you. Consider the myriad of ways God has shown his faithful, loyal, steadfast love to you and to your family. Even in hardships, we can clearly see the faithfulness of our God. His covenant love never fails and for this, we can and should give much thanks this thanksgiving season.
