Last Month, I traveled to Long Beach to meet rising corrido artist Eleazar at his studio. In the city that birthed “La Mariposa Del Barrio” Jenni Rivera, i knew the music had to be good!
At the time of the recording, Eleazar had one song out “Lo Siento”, a late-apology to a previous relationship. His latest single, “Navegando” is the soundtrack to a cruise down Bolen (Baldwin Park).
We spoke with him about his city Baldwin Park, the similarities between rap and corridos, and what he learned from working with legends like Brenton Wood and The Pharcyde.
