We are excited to introduce an incredible organization that is attempting to do something that is unfathomably difficult, and completely necessary for the survival of our species in an uncertain future. Our guest is Aron Mill, Team Coordinator and Research Associate at the Alliance to Feed the Earth in Disasters, or ALLFED.
ALLFED seeks to identify various resilient food solutions and to help governments and companies implement these solutions to feed everyone in the event of a global catastrophe.In their research, they refer to “abrupt light reduction scenarios” such as supervolcanic eruptions, which could deplete food supplies or access to 5% of the global population or more - Resulting in almost instantaneous mass starvation.
ALLFED finds their solutions in “resilient food solutions'' which are technologies and systems that could help everyone survive a global catastrophe that shocks the world’s food systems.
Their ultimate goal is to feed everyone, no matter what. Let’s find out how that is even possible.
