Questions on Hebrews 13:1–8

1. Do you think desire is a good thing in and of itself? Why or why not?
2. Consider this quote from CS Lewis: "Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” What is Lewis suggesting about our desires?
3. How does the image of a "choir" reshape your image of the Christian life? In what areas of life do you find yourself operating as a soloist?
4. Who are the "strangers" in your life? What would it look like for you to love the stranger?
