Ruth is certainly a Proverbs 31.10-31 woman, a woman of honor and greatness, worthy to be praised. She is also a Moabite woman and that is the surprising twist to the story, one of the contemptible nations produced one of the most renowned women in the entire Bible. She is faithful and loving and humble, a woman who is an example to all and for that, the Lord rewarded her greatly, not only by providing a husband but also by using her to produce both the greatest king of Israel, but also Messiah.
