The #1 question I get asked is what should I be eating? How much? Which foods should I avoid, what do I need to eat more of? How the hell do I figure all of this out?
That exact feeling of overwhelm is one of the reasons that we keep going back to diets. They feel safe. They make us feel in successful (so long as we can comply), and they make us feel like we are in control of our health outcomes.
What dieting actually does, is create a super disordered relationship with food. One where we must follow the rules in order to be good, where we feel guilty for being bad, and where we punish ourselves for over eating or require ourselves to earn our food.
It's fucked up.
I want you to know what it is like to eat what you desire. To go to the grocery store and purchase foods that you love, not because they are labeled low sugar, low carb, or gluten free.
I want you to take back all of that time and energy you spend thinking about calories, and invest it into your hobbies and passions.
