The spirit of Christmas isn’t captured by "Jingle Bells" or "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus." We hear the spirit of Christmas in the song Mary lifted to God as she celebrated the gift of the Savior in her womb. We hear it in the words Zechariah sang after his wife, Elizabeth, gave birth to their long-awaited and God-given son, John the Baptist. And we hear it especially in the song the angels sang at Jesus’ birth, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” This Advent series encourages us to stop and listen to "The Songs of Christmas."
