It is said that this is the season to be jolly, but the truth of the matter is, whenever you have Jesus, you have a reason to be jolly. The world seems to think it’s all about a robust man in a red suit, and for some, that may be the case, but those who have a relationship with the Father know better. Of course, Jesus is the real reason for the season and because He is, you can be jolly all year long because He is not just God in December, but He is God year-round. Many get pulled down that rabbit hole of commercialization and that’s where a lot of the depression set in around this time of year. If you just remember that Jesus is the absolute best gift that anyone could ever give or receive, you would do well. Don’t allow the dictates of this world to order your steps; instead, let them be ordered by the LORD. When you keep Him in your sights and focus on Him you won’t get caught up and lost in this false advertising of the season. So on today, don’t just settle for jolly but receive, keep, and operate in real joy when you receive Jesus, the real reason for the season.
