They say today is April Fool’s day, a day for jokes and pranks. Researching the origin of what this day has come to signify puts others at odds with many; making fun of them because they were unaware of the switch from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, called for by the Council of Trent in 1563. Those unaware bore the brunt of jokes and hoaxes which ignorantly, has carried on to this day. Every day, however, should be a day of opportunity to uplift, praise, exalt, and magnify not only God, but one another. Do not waste time on frivolous things that have no lasting value. This is the that the Lord has made, you ought to rejoice and be glad in it as the scriptures say. Do not make your fellow brother or sister the object of ridicule; the enemy does enough of that. We are all God’s children, made in His image, and as such, deserve respect. Some say there is no fool like an old fool, and an old fool would be those holding onto antiquated traditions. The only other fool is the one who says in his heart, there is no God, but God reigns supreme, and therefore honor Him by showing love and respect. So on today, with all the cancel culture stuff going on, this tradition of April fools ought to be included in the cancelation so that we can uplift and bless one another.
