Bless the Lord. Listen, sometimes all it takes is to stand and be still. In the silence, in the midst of being still, God is up to something. What follows is nothing short of deliverance and jubilee. For some, however, that silence spells danger, doom, and judgment. For others it is the miraculous breakthrough they have been waiting for. Two Bible examples illustrate it all: Moses at the Red Sea, and the space of a half hour silence in heaven in the book of Revelation. Moses told the children of Israel to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. What ensued was the obliteration of the Egyptians bringing about the great deliverance of the Israelites. In Revelation, at the breaking open of the seventh seal, all of heaven was silent for about half an hour, in awe of the impending judgment. So too now God is sounding the alarm and saying, “Stand still…” Unprecedented times are upon us but there is nothing like resting in God’s protection and assurance of deliverance. What is coming is going to be biblical, but do not be moved, do not lost hope, do not lose heart. Put on the whole armor of God having done all to stand, then stand therefore and see the salvation of the Lord. You will not have to fight in this fight; you just have to stand and trust God. So on today, God sees and knows all that is happening and has a glorious victory for those waiting on Him; so, let this be you, and continue waiting on God.
