Hello and welcome to the time machine! Today we are going to travel back 77 years to a family radio show named Dr. Christian. This show was extremely unique for the time as it was sponsored by Vaseline, which decided to make the show completely fan written. Anyone was allowed to submit their scripts, including this episode which was written by Howard Berman, who was just a fan from Denver Colorado who wrote this script and sent it to the show in 1947.
Running weekly from 1937-1954, and starring Jean Hersholt and Rosemary DeCamp, Dr. Christian is the only doctor in a small town. Episodes usually are happy tales of Dr. Christian always saving the day with his extremely calm demeanor, and excellent medical prowess. In this particular episode however; we get to witness something strange happen to Dr. Christian. Something possibly even supernatural?
Dr. Christian is called to the house of patient Mr. Bennet who swears that every time he wears a certain pair of slippers to bed, he has the same nightmare. Mrs. Bennet however thinks that Mr. Bennet just does not like the slippers she bought him as a gift. So is this a tale of a husband just trying to get rid of a gift he hates, or is there really something strange about those overly ornate slippers?
