On October 25, 2014, 26 year-old Reyhaneh Jabbari was hanged in Tehran for the crime of self-defense. She defended herself in a rape attack by a former government agent. Instead of being exonerated, Reyhaneh was instead sentenced to death. This is how rape victims are treated in Iran.
