Leaders Handle Rejection Wisely
What if rejection could alter your future from your past? Would you want to crush rejection now?
Many leaders, myself included have struggled with rejection in the past. We have felt the sting of betrayal. We have know the emptiness of abandonment. We have lived with the bitter taste of mockery and comparison after a relationship ended wrong.
The results of rejection are as multiplied and varied as are the causes. Anger. Hostility. Resentment. These emotions often lurk just beneath the surface for those familiar with rejection. Sadly, one major result of rejection is the attachment to self worth which cause the question: “Am I really any good for anything anyway.”
Worse yet is when this question of self worth causes ya to go on the offense and reject others before they can reject us. What a vicious cycle of destruction that can be.
If you have been rejected, whether as a leader or before, you need to learn to view yourself differently. You need to adopt a healthy and balanced view of yourself and to focus on the good you bring to others. Finally, practice a more open acceptance of others in order to break the cycle.
