LEADERS LEARN FROM UNEXPECTED TEACHERS
Everyday we learn something, or at least we should. Only when we are ready and willing to admit, we do not know everything, are we willing to submit ourselves to learn something new.
There is an old phrase of ancient wisdom which states, "When the student is ready, the teacher will come." There is truth in this statement. Often times, the teacher has been around all along, but the student wouldn't heed the advice, learn the lesson or pay any attention.
Leaders are expected to be wise, mentors, teachers and guides. Leaders can often think more highly of their own smarts than they should. Humility becomes very important at this point.
Look for the blind spots. Look for the gaps. Become aware of what you don't know. Seek out the teachers who have that knowledge, regardless where they come from.
