I'm joined this week with my best friend who I've know for more than half my life, Amber Palmer. The heart of this conversation is built around her fathers cancer battle and the impact of something so tragic. We talk about asking for help is not a sign of being weak but a sign that you aren't willing to give up!
But there is more to this episode than that. This girl has forged her own pathway from a turbulent household growing up, through school where she meet some amazing friends, through university and into some great job opportunities. She hasn't done this alone as she points out the importance of a friend circle and family members. Amber is someone driven to succeed. She started work as soon as she could and continued to up-skill herself laying a foundation for whatever the future holds.
It is a privilege to share this vulnerable yarn with everyone. I'm hoping people can relate to this and/or grow from it also.
