After siding with Bonnie Prince Charlie in the Jacobite Rebellion, William was captured, beheaded in the Tower of London, and denied a proper burial in Scotland.
Devastated, Lady Anne spent her final days wandering the grounds of their former home, now Howard Park, overcome with grief. Legend says her ghost—draped in red, parasol in hand—still haunts the park, forever searching for her lost love.
