The season of Advent coincides with the darkest and busiest time of year, filled with cold winter days and exciting holiday parties. As the daylight is slowly less and less this year, it can begin to remind us of the darkness of sin and death. The People of God waited in darkness for the promised renewal of the world and we too are waiting.
Advent is a time to prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ at Christmas, but also in waiting in alertness for the Second Coming. Advent is a time to look at ourselves and ask if we are truly prepared in heart and mind to celebrate Jesus at Christmas.
