Welcome to this recap episode of Flow Over Fear. Today's episode is a breakdown of my recent interview with Allison Watson, an endurance athlete and CEO of Woodard and Curran.
Allison has had an impressive career in Ironman, ultra-distance, ultra-running, and ultraman, including qualifying for Kona and the 70.3 World Championship, and setting bike course records.
Allison got into endurance sports in 2015, starting with a couch-to-sprint triathlon and working her way up to Ironman triathlons, ultra distance triathlons and ultra marathons.
Some of the key topics I share about our interview in this recap are:
- “Life Jenga”
- Adding “right” things by subtracting out the “bad”
- Injury as the result of a crash at Ironman Texas, and the long recovery process.
- Healing by choosing positivity
- Winning Ironman Indian Wells 70.3 age group and setting the bike course record
- Following your curiosity with “what if…”
- journaling that led to the possibility of a book about core values
