It’s been one year since I started the Beautifully Awkward Podcast and what a year it has been. In the last few months we have all experienced a collective challenge with the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter Movement, and to throw in for good measure, Murder Hornets. Writing that out seems like I am reviewing a novel, but that has been our reality for the year 2020. In this episode I provide some awkward experiences such as talking about differences in social distancing practices to having a co-worker make overt racist comments and provide my thoughts on how to maneuver through. I also provide some ideas for managing the overwhelm that comes with these times and ways to break it all down, like using Asana as a way to manage family projects, and how to hopefully grow and evolve through the days and months ahead. I would love to hear from you and maybe even start a dialog about how you have been coping. I have thrown myself into a positive project called Classic, Curvy, and Beautiful on Facebook where I provide weekly self-care ideas and articles to manage life for women (I am working on expanding to include the gentleman of the group, but that is still in the works). I am consuming articles, podcasts, and doing weekly “challenges” to keep myself busy and all the while returning to work full time. It’s a whirlwind of a year, but I hope we all come out a bit better in the end. Feel free to email me at Beautifullyawkwardpodcast@yahoo.com or jump over to our Facebook page to check things out. If this is your first episode, Welcome! Hopefully the next year evolves further and this podcast continues to bring you a sense of belonging. As always, you are not alone and I hope to hear from you soon!
