Part one of a two part interview: Doris Haddad, MEd Career Counsellor and Master Certified Career Coach (MCCC) has an extensive background as a Career Counsellor from both the public and private sectors. She has helped internationally trained professionals and others from various experiences strategize their career journey.
We discuss Haddad's path to becoming a career counsellor, why she prefers the term "internationally trained professional" to "newcomer," and why transferable skills matter more than "Canadian" experience.
Haddad also brings up her experience with the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and the Intercultural Conflict Style (ICS) Inventory. Host John McGraw took Doris through both assessments, and there is a discussion on how they can help professionals be more effective in multicultural and cross-cultural environments.
Next Episode: Part 2 with Doris Haddad, Master Certified Career Counsellor. Coming out Wednesday, December 28.
