Promises made, promises kept...
Most of us have experienced the heartache and disappointment of broken promises. Human attempts at real love seem to fail us at every turn.
But, Jesus actually comes to us from a story of promises. This is not a small story for the devout and faithfull, no; it’s a big, covenant story that includes everyone! Yes; every. person. in. your. life.
It is the story of God reaching through the millennia, through Jesus, to you, to me, and to all who will recognize his unrelenting covenant love for them, and will say “Yes". A “Yes” that many human beings have yet to say to the God who loved them and knew them before they were even born.
You see, this story is YOUR story. You are the name on God’s lips when he speaks of keeping promises - a covenant story that came to its fulfillment in Jesus. You are the one he “calls by name,” and who has every hair on your head numbered by God. You are the one for whom Jesus, Emmanuel, came to reveal himself.
Own it, embrace it, as your story. A Way has been made for you to come into the wholeness that only the Love of God can bring in your life. Let's celebrate a God who keeps His promises as we prepare for Christmas!
