Genesis is the first of the five books of the Hebrew Torah, commonly called the Pentateuch, The five Books of The Law and the Five Books of Moses. It is also the first book of the Christian Canon of Scripture. The Christian title is taken from the Hebrew word “re’shyith”, which means “in the beginning.”
