The Emperor's New Clothes aired on Jan. 4, 1986, on KSPI FM 94 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

This fairy tale episode featured recurring characters playing other characters. The Emperor, played by The Giant Blueberry, was voiced by Kel Pickens. The Old Court Minister, played by Mr. Invento, was also voiced by Kel Pickens. The Empress Queen was voiced by Carolyn Meyer, and the female weaver/swindler played by Daphne, the Cockney schoolgirl, was also voiced by Carolyn.

Guest stars:

Joy Fieldsend, a good friend from Sheffield, England, provided narration. The male weaver/swindler was voiced by Pat Glass, a dear friend who acted and directed many plays at Town and Gown Theater.

One of the songs featured in this episode is from Carolyn and Kel's album "The Music of Our Language" and is titled "Punctuation Parade." It was recorded in Stillwater at Lamb Recording with Carolyn Meyer on vocals and keyboards, along with recording engineer Mike Hufford on drums. Donnie Mitchell played the bass guitar, and Paul Montemurro on trumpet.

Kel Pickens performed the vocalized punctuation mark sounds. Kel said he was heavily influenced by "Fractured Fairy Tales" on the "Rocky and Bullwinkle Show" while growing up, which shows in his script.
