As Memorial Day occurred on the our usual meeting day, this lesson was dedicated to assessing the Biblical position regarding war. If war is never morally permissible, how could we celebrate Memorial Day in good conscience? This episode thus argues that war can indeed be justifiable from both historical precedent and the role of the God's institution of government in society. Finally, the episode concluded with a discussion of Just War Theory as articulated by Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas.
