A North Philadelphia native, Chef Martel Stone found his love of cooking in the folds of a soft curd French omelet. Influenced by all intersections of the Diaspora, with a lighthearted approach to creating his flavorful dishes Chef Martel pulls stories from his childhood & time spent exploring through his career. Chef Martel integrates bold spices and fresh herb sauces to create a beautiful harmony in each dish. Chef Stone’s cooking style embodies his interpretation of Contemporary Diaspora cuisine. Chef Stone’s culinary experience is diverse, ranging from high-end to Mom-and-Pop restaurants. Highlights of his professional journey include working as the Executive Sous Chef at Kith and Kin Washington, D.C., The Gathering Spot DC, and is currently the Chef/Founder of The Black Supper Collective.
Chef Martel is a Food Network competition veteran, competing on numerous shows across the network. The winner of Chopped Next Generation & Guy’s Grocery Games. His passion for exploring through food has allowed him to forge a path of his own.
