Welcome back! Thank you so much for joining me on my podcast. Today, we have the opportunity to interview a really incredible person who's become a pretty good friend of mine.
Alex Hutchinson is an author, scientist and journalist who has an incredible knack for deconstructing and translating knowledge about the limits of human performance. He has produced fantastic articles for magazines like Outside and Running World, and his latest book is amazing. Endure: Mind, Body, and the Curiously Elastic Limits of Human Performance has a forward written by Malcolm Gladwell.
Alex explores our capacity to endure because he believes it underlies great performance in any field, ranging from sprinting to ultra-marathoning, summiting Everest, aceing a final exam and completing a difficult project at work. The question Alex obsessively explores is one that I constantly ask myself: What are we actually truly capable of achieving?
So let’s dive into this complex and fantastically fun interview!
