Liz Nachman is a beacon of community-driven philanthropy and unwavering compassion. With her roots deeply embedded in Long Beach, New York, she emerged as a pillar of strength during the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy in 2012. Her journey began when her son, Geoffrey Noss, proposed the idea of selling 'Rebuild the Beach' T-shirts, a simple yet powerful initiative that rapidly gained momentum, culminating in over $45,000 donated to the Long Beach School District for needy children. This initial spark ignited a lifelong dedication to giving back, evident in the diverse array of causes she has championed, from scholarships for local students to supporting animal rights organizations and soup kitchens.
Beyond her remarkable charity work, Liz's background is rooted in branding and marketing, reflecting her entrepreneurial spirit. She co-founded Brand Strategies and, alongside her business partner Erik Hilliker, embraced a core principle of giving back to the community through their business endeavors. Liz's passion for volunteering extends across various organizations, including the Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce's Health and Wellness Committee. Her unyielding dedication to the well-being of her community, matched by her boundless energy and generosity, has earned her the esteemed title of the Herald's 2021 Person of the Year. Liz Nachman embodies the essence of altruism, setting a shining example for us all to follow as we strive to make our communities better places.
