Holy Habits
“Intensity makes for a great story, but consistency makes for great progress.”
Consistency breeds Victory
You need to build Holy habits, to live in victory.
You need quiet time because Jesus needed quiet time. You need spiritual discipline because Jesus needed spiritual discipline.
“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
Psalms 46:10 NLT
Yes, God loves you just as you are, but He loves you way to much to leave you the way you are.
You know you are in God’s presence when all of your problems fade away. There is no striving, there is no worry, no stress, just time with God.
“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”
Psalms 1:1-3 NKJV
1.) People are way too distracted.
The enemy uses weapons of mass distraction.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Matthew 11:28-30 MSG
2.) People need to rest and get away from distractions.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Mark 1:35 NIV
“But Jesus often slipped away from them and went into the wilderness to pray.”
Luke 5:16 TPT
3.) God wants to give you strength for your future.
“Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry.”
Luke 4:1-2 NLT
God will equip you with strength from the Holy Ghost to make it through any wilderness.
Quiet time spent with God will give you supernatural strength for your future
“This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.”
Isaiah 30:15 NLT
