Holy Habits: Renewing Your Mind

The Mind is a Battlefield.

Right thinking leads to right living.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

1.) You need a quiet mind to lead a quiet life.

“Aspire to lead a calm and peaceful life as you mind your own business and earn your living, just as we’ve taught you. By doing this you will live an honorable life,
influencing others and commanding respect of even the unbelievers. Then you’ll be in need of nothing and not dependent upon others.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

2.) You need to work on renewing your mind.

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Beliefs turn into your mindset, and your mindset turns into your behavior.

Your beliefs will always drive your mindset and your mindset will always drive your behavior.

I am growing.
I am grateful.
I am generous.

It’s not behavior modification, it’s mind transformation.

“For as a man thinketh in His heart so is he” proverbs 23:7 KJV

3.) You need to train your mind.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When your mind is fixed on God, you will be in perfect peace.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When you renew your mind, peace fills your life and gratitude becomes your lifestyle.

4.) Gratitude is a magnet for miracles
