”Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.“

1.) Treat the Holy Spirit like a person
John 16:7-8 NKJV
The Holy Spirit is a person with a personality.
He is a person who lives on the inside of us.
The person of Jesus is at the right hand of the father praying for you, the spirit of Jesus lives on the inside of you.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT
2.) Grieving the Holy Spirit has to do with character
People see your cars, and your fashion, and what they see on the outside but only the Holy Spirit really knows your character.
Religion always looks on that outside where as relationship always deals with your heart.
To grieve means to, make him sad, cause grief, offend, cause distress, uneasy or sorrowful.
Things that grieve the Holy Spirit : lying (verse 25) anger (verse 26) giving place to the devil (verse 27) stealing (verse 28) bitterness, anger, jealousy, gossip, greed etc (verse 31)
Ephesians 4:25-32 NKJV
Everything he deals with are character issues of the Heart.
Psalms 95:10 NKJV
The more you know the ways of God the more you want to walk in His ways.
What pleases God is a heart turned toward Him.
The Holy Spirit isn’t condemning you, he’s convicting you to do better.
You want to level up? it’s not a car, a job, or a watch, it’s wisdom to obey the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 10:9
3.) Quenching the Holy Spirit has to do with Power
The first one is character, the second one is power, do not quench the Holy Spirit.
The first one has to do with you, the second one has to do with others.
The first one is about your inner world, the second one is about what comes out of your world.
The kingdom of God is not a kingdom of words, it’s a kingdom of Power. But it can only powerfully work through those who don’t quench the Holy Spirit.
God does not inquire of you if it’s ok when he wants to use you.
If you want God to live be your agenda, you’ll restrict him. if you want to live by His agenda, you’ll release him.
What do you want to do in me and what do you want to do through me?
No part of your life should be off limits to God.

He wants to do something so big inside of you it will burst out of you.
I've got a river of life flowing out of me! Makes the lame to walk, and the blind to see.
Opens prison doors, sets the captives free!

That life abundantly.
We need to live spirit filled and spirit led lives.
He doesn’t want to be restricted he wants to be released.
