In God We Trust Pt. 3
“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”
Genesis 2:15-24 NIV
1.) God wants to give you more.
God wants to give you more peace, more joy, more wisdom, more strength, and more rest. Ultimately, he wants to give you more of himself.
If money isn’t your master, God will give you all the resources you need to fulfill everything he has called you to do.
James 1:5-7 NLT
God will never prop up a master that is bigger than him in your life.
God’s blessing flows through healthy relationships.
God will give you somebody that will compliment you, but only He can complete you.
Religion can only show you spiritual poverty, Relationship with God shows you God’s generosity toward you.
2.) God will do His part but he’s waiting for us to do our part.
Stewardship is your half of the miracle.
Stewardship is the platform for supernatural things to occur.
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
James 2:26 NKJV
Throughout the scriptures we see God asking people to do something before the miracle shows up.
“So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him.”
Genesis 2:19-20 NLT
God has adam steward first and then he receives.
Adam had to be with God to learn how to steward the things from God.
Genesis 2:21-22 NLT
Steward your attitude well, steward your relationships well, you can steward your habits and disciplines well.
If you steward natural things, you get natural results. If you steward heavenly things, you get supernatural results.
Your highest potential falls short of God’s smallest promise.
3.) what we don’t steward shrinks, what we do steward multiplies.
Stewardship is simply honoring God with everything he has entrusted us with.
Matthew 25:14-30 NIV
What you steward well God will multiply.
If You steward a word from God, you will see the miracle working power of God.
Live a life worth giving to, so you can live a life worth giving through.
Either you will worship God with your heart, or you will worship the things of this world with your heart.
Proverbs 11:24-25 NLT
