The True Vine

Your Love life will affect every area of your life.

There are more options in our time than there has ever been. but there is also more despair than there has ever been.

Where do the thoughts we think about these subjects come from?

You will never be able to live right or love right if you do not think right.

How you think about things will determine how you treat things.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭128‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The greatest thing you can do for the world is to have a strong family.

The greatest thing you can do for your family is have a strong marriage.

The greatest thing you can do for your marriage is have a strong soul.

You want to see the world changed, that’s downstream, upstream is your own soul.

You must first be the change you want to see.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭128‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A fear of God means a reverence for God and a desire that makes you want to please him the most.

If you have a reverence for God and you find someone else who has a reverence for God, the two of you together will do great.

A fear of God is different than “I go to church” or “I’m a believer”

If you settle for someone who doesn’t fear God, you’ll end up not pursing Him to pursue them.

“The fear of God is the cornerstone of all blessing.” - Charles Spurgeon

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Live a life where his word and his opinion in your life mean more than anything else, and everything else will take care of itself.

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The secret to a successful marriage starts with a soul that fears God.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭128‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Marriage like a Fruitful vine, which produces grapes that make wine.

Wine in the scripture represents medicine and rejoicing.

Good Samaritan “he healed the man with wine for his wounds”

Marriage can be both medicine and a time of rejoicing.

Your marriage can help bring healing power to the world.

Hospitality echoes the heart of God.

Start where you are. faithfulness and generosity are not earned, they are learned.

Miracle at Cana, Jesus turned the water into the best wine anyone had ever had, it’s a picture of the kingdom, medicine for your wounds and a lifestyle of celebration.

The wine of this world always runs out, the wine at Jesus offers never runs out.

In the same way, he want to use your marriage to serve up that wine to a world that is desperate for what He has to offer.

How then do we properly steward our vines so they stay fine all the time.

1.) A vine must be cultivated

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭128‬:‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

2.) A vine must be connected

‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Without connectivity, you become roommates in marriage.

“I never knew I could experience in my 60’s the happiness that I thought passed me by in my 20’s “ - CS Lewis

3.) A vine continues to climb

Vines will always continue to climb and grow but the growth has to be directed.

The church is the trellis for the vine to grow on.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The potential is limitless. as long it’s cultivated and connected, it can continue to climb.

A wild vine becomes a mush bush but if you keep putting the trellis and purpose in place, the potential is limitless.

That is why anything but Christ at the center of marriage leads to destruction.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭128‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

As we see ourselves connected to the church and cultivating relationships in the church, we can climb to God’s limitless potential for our lives.

4.) A vine will produce fruit that can be collected

When fruit is collected, you can taste and receive the blessings from the fruit.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭34‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Wine just gets better and better with time and that’s what God intends for your marriage and relationships.

5.) We are believing God for something consequential to be released in our homes.
Oldest tree in the world in Bethlehem

Endless legacy can be released when the home is approached the way that God intended it to be.

God wants to unleash something through you, bigger than you.
