Made to Worship
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.”
Psalms 34:1-3 NKJV
There’s not just power in your praise, there is power in our praise. It’s not just “You exalt God,” It’s “Let us together exalt God.”
Worship - To recognize, honor and express worthiness of God that He is due as our Maker.
Why Do We Worship?
1.) We Worship because He’s Worthy of our Worship
“The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?”
Psalms 113:4-6 NKJV
“the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.””
Revelation 4:10-11 NKJV
2.) We worship because we were Created To Give Him Praise
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11 NIV
3.) We worship because we’ve Found Nothing Greater Than His Presence.
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”
Psalms 42:1-2 NIV
“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Psalms 16:11 NKJV
The reality is we were all designed to experience pleasure. we are just too busy getting pleasure in all the wrong places.
You get your pleasure from idols, instead of God alone. Idols promise to satisfy, but they never can. they promise to deliver, but they never can. they promise but can never produce on their promise, where God always does.
“and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”
Isaiah 61:3 NIV
4.) We worship because it Changes our lives … And Has The Potential To Change Others
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.”
Psalms 40:3 NIV
Your worship is not just for you but it will affect everyone around you!
