Song of Songs: what is love?
The Song of Solomon is known as the most neglected book in the Bible.
Solomon was the third king of Israel, Saul was his grandfather, David his father.
Solomon was the wisest man that ever lived, but without applying that wisdom, it is useless.
Just because someone knows a lot does not mean they do a lot.

Solomon gave his life to figuring out the meaning of Life, he was a poet and songwriter who wrote over 1,000 songs.
In Song of Solomon, we see dating, courtship, marriage and the honeymoon.
God is the author of desire, He is the author of relationship, He is the author of sex.
God not only shows us romance and love in this book but also conflict and resolution in a marriage.
God wants us to know how to love, and He is the author of Love.
1.) Love was created by God.
God does not do love, He is Love.
”There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.“

Phileo - Brotherly love, Friendship
Eros - sensual, erotic, or romantic love
Storge - love for Family
Agape - unconditional love, perfect love.
Your spouse should compliment you, but can never complete you, only God’s love can.
”We love Him because He first loved us.“

2.) Desire was created by God
Because your desires were God given, they must be God guided.
”Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, by the gazelles and wild deer, not to awaken love until the time is right.“

You can’t live off impulse, and desires, you must live by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
”Drink water from your own cistern, And running water from your own well. Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets? Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth. “

4.) To love is to give and forgive.
To have a Thriving relationship, is to give a lot and forgive a lot.
The moment generosity and forgiveness leave a relationship, it comes to an end.
All God does is give and forgive.
If you keep records of wrongs in your marriage, your marriage will never survive.
