In business, you have to determine what your values actually are and then make choices using those values as a guide or compass.
Business owners that operate from scarcity, fear, and judgment actually create more of the same. If we’re not doing the work to regulate our emotions and create and maintain organized systems and processes, it’s easy to fall into these mindsets.
But we are designed to run this way on auto pilot. Which is why we have to work hard to be intentional about what our values are and how they should guide our business practices. Of course, it’s natural to worry about scarcity and whether you’ll be able to pay to keep your business open. It’s also totally normal to be concerned with others’ approval and wishing you had made a different choice in the past. Just because those thoughts are naturally occurring doesn’t mean we should act on them or let that guide us.
