Our economic systems and philosophies about self betterment are focused on the goal of infinite growth. If we keep growing, then we keep improving and that is great! Except can we keep growing? What happens when we start using up our limited resources in the world, like water, land, and human resources? On a personal level, what happens when we hit limits that are potentially threatening to break? Is infinite growth possible and if so, is it even worth pursuing?
If infinite growth is supposed to bring us closer together and to make us happier, then why are people feeling more alienated and unhappy than ever before?
Let's reflect on growth as a mindset and consider a healthier alternative that could be more fair to ourselves and the world around us.
