For many younger people, the horrors of World War Two are something read about in a history book. But for Vivianne Knebel, the horrors can seem as real today as they were when she was trying to live in the rubble of a bombed-out Berlin.
Born in 1943 in the epicenter of Nazi power during the hail of allied bombing and Soviet shelling, the child came to know poverty and constant hunger as her strong-willed mother fought to keep her alive despite much of Berlin bombed into rubble.
Ironically, the car first sketched by Adolf Hitler – the Volkswagen -- helped change her life. Vivianne Knebel joins us for this Bizgnus Interview….

Ms. Knebel, who now lives in the San Diego area in Southern California, is the subject of a documentary called “An Unimportant Girl.”
