Few people have ever heard it. Perhaps even the musicians who played the tunes never expected they would be heard 75 years later.
Music recorded by a long-forgotten Army Air Force band while the wounds of the just-ended war in the Pacific were still fresh, has been found in an attic in the Central Valley and is being re-issued in time for Veterans Day.
The story of this unique music begins with a single microphone sending the audio to a device that recorded it originally onto a spool of thin wire.
Clarksburg Middle School history teacher Jason Burt found the recordings in the dusty attic of his grandparent’s home.
