You can know with certainty you are going to heaven when you die. “Whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved” (Rom 10:13). “This is written so you may know you have eternal life. He that has the Son has life and he that has not the Son of God has not life” (1 Jn 5:12-13). The issue of being saved is putting your faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. You express this faith to God in prayer. Before we are saved, we are slaves to sins that manipulate and control us. With salvation, you are freed from the chains of sin and find freedom in Jesus Christ and His Word.
