Communion is a test of what you remember about Jesus Christ’s saving work as you partake of the bread and the cup. The bread represents Christ’s virgin birth, impeccability, hypostatic union, celebrity ship, and how He removed the barrier between God and man. The cup represents sanctification being set apart to God through the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, propitiation, redemption, and reconciliation. Never take communion with unconfessed sin in your life. The consequences for being out of fellowship: “For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep {death}” (1 Cor 11:30).
