We are to become Christ-like. We are to learn and use God’s Word and grow up spiritually. “To the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ” (Eph 4:13). Spiritual humility is you depending on God’s resources, power and grace provisions for you. “Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord” (James 4:10). The humility of the soul is you constantly evaluating yourself in the light of God’s Word. Humility as a way of thinking must become a way of life. The humility profile, “To sum it all up, be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted and humble in spirit” (1 Pet 3:18). Passions must not become priorities, or you will lose focus. “We are to be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of our prayer. Above all keep loving one another earnestly since love can cover a multitude of sins” (1 Pet 4:7-8).
